Hi, I just cleaned my computer from a rootkit virus with help from this forum. I meant to start using AVAST avtivirus but I accidently installed Malware bytes free trial instead. So I used it for a week to see how I liked it and when it expired, I didn't immediately install AVAST because I was busy. A couple days later I updated Malware bytes definitions and ran the stand-alone in preparation to uninstall it and then install AVAST. Malware bytes found two problems and crashed. So I restarted and ran it again and the same thing happened.  But I restarted normally, now I uninstalled malware bytes and ran the AVAST standalone, it also found problems and crashed and flashed a bluescreen before shutting down. I can still restart and use my computer normally, and use the internet etc. and if not for the unusual antivirus runs, I would think everything was fine. What should I do?

Hello  happydeb, I would suspect that there are still traces of malware on here and we should get a deeper look to make sure it is ALL gone. Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.

Let me know if all went well.
