I have an HP laptop that I am reformatting, I have done this in the past, but i forget how to get the reformat started. If i remember correctly, there's a disk i have to put in the C: drive and then restart my computer with the disk inserted. Is this correct? And if so, does anyone know what disk it is?

Boot from the Floppy Resue disk. You can download one from http://www.bootdisk.com . Type in format C:\ /u at the A:\ prompt.
When it finishes you are ready to install.
