Just got a new gateway laptop with windows 8, there was an update, automatically restarted and now I get the message "windows boot manager has been blocked by the current security policy"  with an ok button, click the ok and screen comes up saying no bootable device, hit any key, hit enter again, next screen list the boot manager with only the windows boot highlighted, then just recycles thru the 3 screens

any ideas besides sending it back and paying yet more money for shipping for this p.i.t.a?

Did you create the factory recovery disks/usb when you first booted the laptop?
