Hello, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to remove a virus commonly called "EasyLife App." Now i have looked things up about how to delete it and they have all said "EasyLife App", but mine says "EasyLife Gadget" in the programs list. Anyways, When i try to uninstall it, it says "Error 2 while loading archive: The system cannot find the file specified". I have already tried to delete the program from the program list while in safe mode and the virus and malware scans cant seem to find it. I know it is still in my computer because just randomly the Internet explorer's home page changed to search.easylife. Also whenever I click on a search suggestion I get redirected to random sites. Please help me out!

Thanks in advance!

Jesse

I could not run Junkware even with all my system security programs shut off. But on the bright side I am not getting redirected when on Google search on Internet Explorer. The Easylife Gadget is still on my programs list and i still can't delete it. This worries me a bit. Maybe if I were about to run Junkware this would not be a problem? Otherwise thanks so much for helping me with the redirecting, this also probably found a few other viruses in my computer.

Malwarebytes

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop. If you already have it installed launch the program and update the database.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet and double-click on the it to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings except to uncheck any offer for a free Pro trial version
  • Malwarebytes will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button and continue.
  • Under the Scanner tab, make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • When finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box, then click the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked and then click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows the database version and your operating system.
  • Exit Malwarebytes when done.

Note: If Malwarebytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally will prevent Malwarebytes from removing all the malware.
