Computer keeps freezing

Hi

 

recently had to replace hard drive in my laptop. But now my computer periodically freezes for up to 2 minutes at a time. Usually when playing a video or playing a game. can anyone help? Thanks

Please post the computer model next time.

 

Try downloading Speccy and then install the program.  To post and publish a snapshot of your PC.
. In the Menu bar, click File -> Publish Snapshot
. Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard
. On your next reply, right-click on a empty space and click Paste on reply box then click Post.

What computer brand/model is it? Please check your hardware temperatures using this http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html since its more on gaming and video when you see this freezing problem. Did you change/add anything from hardware or software before this freezing occured?

It's a Packard Bell Easynote TS. Nothing out of ordinary with the temperatures. Processor gets up to about 65 degrees. But the freezing started immeidately after the hard drive was replaced. Would it be anything to do with that?

It's a Packard Bell Easynote TS.

There are a number of Easy Note TS laptops with i3 processors found in this link. Which particular number/series among them? So we can look for updated driver versions. However, all models only came with 4 gig of RAM sticks. I am presuming that the added 2 gig should be removed first and check then if any bluescreens will be thrown out after.

I presume the warranty period has expired when you replaced the hard drive? Did you try removing the added 2 Gig of RAM stick and check if the freezing and bluescreen disappears?

I have tried that and it froze again. Also did a memtest which came back clear

Download SecurityCheck.exe from Here

. Run SecurityCheck and follow the instruction from inside the code box.
. When the scan is finished, a notepad will automatically open as check.txt
   Please copy and paste the contents here on your next reply.

 


Download MiniToolBox and select
List Last 10 Event Viewers, List Installed Programs and List Users, Partitions and Memory Size.
A notepad will open then copy-paste the report on your next reply.

You mean removed the 2 Gig of RAM stick?

Uninstall your outdated Avast antivirus and install Free Microsoft Security Essential for Windows 7 64 bit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

Did you install your Chipset, VGA (Intel) and all other drivers for Windows & from your support site here http://www.packardbell.co.uk/pb/en/GB/content/download

Hello,

1.)  Please follow jhayz's instructions in previous post, first.

2. )  Next, please navigate to the the Windows folder.

  • C:\Windows\ <==  this folder.
  • Find the C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file
  • Right mouse click on the memory.dmp file -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A Compressed (zipped) folder will appear in the C:\Windows folder.
  • Note: If you receive an access denied message or have trouble zipping the ".dmp" file, create a new folder on your Desktop (suggestion: Memdump), then copy and paste the memory.dmp file into that Desktop folder, then compress the folder.

Upload the zipped folder to a File Sharing website of your choosing because Bleeping Computer has a 512 K only upload limit and this file will be much larger.   



3. )  I see that you have CCleaner installed.  Please open CCleaner and under System, uncheck Memory Dumps.  This way should you run CCleaner, minidump files usually located in "C:\Windows\Mindump" will not be deleted.  These files may be of further assistance.
