Can anyone tell me of a where I can get a boot disk for Vista

My hard drive needs some loving care ..... So I need a generic boot disk so I can retrive some files from the hard drive .... I have a dual 64bit pentium Gateway computer ....

I tried a rescue disc but it tills me its incompatable with this version of vista windows ..... 

 

My only choice is to remove hard drive and put it in a usb portable container ....

 

can I get some suggestions so I won't have to take it out ..... I can get to the hard drive through the home network but I can only see public folder ..... Can I some how in bypass the non sharing switch so I can see the contents of the hard drive . I'm using Vista premium .....
