I have an old HP Pavilion ze4900 and just recently re-installed XP Home SP3 on it, everything is working fine except the WiFi card. (looks like this: http://tinyurl.com/cax3xwe) It's a Linksys Wireless-B Notebook Adapter (WPC11 ver.4). Device manager tells me I'm missing an "Ethernet Controller" (the driver for the card is missing). I've searched the web but none of the drivers I've installed so far seem to get the card working.

Hey narenxp,

Thanks for the reply. Someone from the GeeksToGo forum already directed me to the driver/ utility download from the HP website but nothing is working. I will flash the BIOS with the latest version and reinstall the driver to see if that fixes anything, otherwise I may just have to buy a new USB adapter.

I tried both the download from the HP website and the link you gave me after flashing the BIOS, and the adapter is still not working :/

I'm probably going to go ahead and buy this: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/tp-link-tp-link-wireless-n150-nano-usb-adapter-tl-wn725n-tl-wn725n/10219141.aspx?path=87be6dbbba77425ef1bcf888daea51aaen02

I went ahead and bought a D-Link usb adapter and it works great.
Thanks for all the help so far though! I just didn't want to spend anymore time on it, I needed the WiFi to work, I just thought I needed the correct driver but apparently not.
