I told my friend who is having computer problems that I'd clean out the infection on her computer. When I got there and downloaded ad-aware(which found 702 Critical objects) and Spybot S&D(which found 47 different types of objects), I found that her computer was completely FUBAR.

Now, I've found the source of the spyware & viruses...her stepdad's 250 000+ files of porn all in one folder, Kazaa, and no antivirus.

I was able to get rid of some of the easier to kill stuff based on what I've used this site for before, but there are still many problems...

PRoblems that Spybot picks up that refuse to be removed or that I know will return instantly when removed:

CoolWWWSearch
Command Service(don't know what this is)
Network Monitor(Don't know what this is)
SurfSidekick(Don't Know What This Is)
WhenU.Search.DesktopToolbar(Don't Know What This Is)
Smitfraud(I don't want to spend 11 hours working on her computer like I had to when mine had this )

There are several others and I'll post a hijackthis! log on the site when I get to her house after school today.

I was wondering if I could get some help with these problems first as both ad-aware and spybot were incapable of doing anything to them...

Also, is there any faster way to remove Smitfraud than the manual that you have on your site?

BC AdBot (Login to Remove)

Since you have several major infections to deal with I suggest you read and follow all instructions in the pinned topic titled Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log.

When you have done that, post a log in the HijackThis Logs and Analysis Forum, not here, for assistance by the HJT Team Experts.

It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy. Please be patient as they are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have not been replied as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response, a team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Thanks, I'll do that later when I get there after school. I was already aware of this, and was just looking for anyone's past experience with these as I wanted to go back there today prepared. I'm replying to this now because I don't expect another reply to this. Thanks for your help.

Peace.

Your welcome UndeadShroom

As I said with all these infections I think you will need expert help and posting a HJT log would be your best chance of success. If there was one specific infection I could direct you to the self-help area but you have several that need to be addressed. If I started giving you some advice here a HJT log would be needed along the way and they are not done in this forum.
