When I load a program on Windows 8 a app. tile is loaded on the start screen.

How do you make an icon on your desktop from this tile?

I just loaded Microsoft Office 2010 and would love to have a icon on my desktop instead of the Win 8

start screen.

I am new to this forum and this is my first post.

I heard about this forum on others that I belong to.

Hi Tom and welcome to the site.

If its a desktop application, right click on the tile and select Open File Location.

This will open the desktop and display a folder where the startup screen shortcut is stored. You can right-right click and drag the shortcut you want on your desktop to the desktop and let go of the mouse button. When the menu appears, select copy.
