Hi I'm new here and technically challenged as well, so I thank you in advance for your patience.

In the time period between when I foolishly let my anti virus protection expire and purchasing a disc of kaspersky bad things began to happen.

I can no longer watch most you tube videos on internet explorer. I can when I use Chrome though.

It keeps telling me to download Adobe flash, which I already have anyway. On both Internet Explorer and Chrome the following is happening.

I get nasty picture pop ups that come back as fast as I can x them off. Usually on the left side of the screen

On the right side I get annoying pop ups for somebody called Chitka who seems to follow me around and offer links to places or topics I've read ( on a mainstream household repair forum that I frequent)

On a gmail account that I opened when I purchased an Android phone, but rarely use, there is ridiculous amount of email messages from nasty girls whose invitations I can only guess at as I just delete those right away. Those emails do not appear on the phone but laptop only.

The Kaspersky hasn't cleaned this problem up nor does it even acknowledge its presence. I also downloaded Malwarebytes but that was also useless.

What to do??

Thanks

Thank you for your reponse.

I did the first task with kaspersky and the result was that no threats were detected. I did not get the dialogue boxes that you have shown.

Shall I continue with the next solution ?

Thanks

I don't seem to be getting anywhere. In the second task my computer would not allow me to copy and paste the result.

In the third task I got as far as #5 and after clicking the start button I only got an empty blue dialogue box. I can't get any further then this.

Since originally posting I have scrolled around and I see others have this exact problem. I apologize for not researching those solutions first.

What is my next step?

Thanks for your time

Malwarebytes

--------------------

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.  If you already have it installed launch the program and update the database.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet and double-click on the it to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings except to uncheck any offer for a free Pro trial version
  • Malwarebytes will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button and continue.
  • Under the Scanner tab, make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • When finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box, then click the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked and then click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows the database version and your operating system.
  • Exit Malwarebytes when done.

Note: If Malwarebytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally will prevent Malwarebytes from removing all the malware.

Now I'm stuck. While attempting to do autoruns task, a pop up has come up that says the recycle bin on C:\ is corrupted. Do you want to empty the recycle bin for this drive. The only choice is yes or no. I can't just click on an x.
