For some reason, Internet Explorer 6.0.2 stopped functioning. When I tried to reinstall it from a Microsoft CD or from Windows Update, I was told that I had a newer version of IE and so couldn't reinstall. Even after I deleted IE and eliminated all IE files, I still got this error message. Even after reinstalling Windows XP Home and EarthLink (my ISP), I still got this error message. How can I get IE 6.0 back again?

Why do I want Internet Explorer? Because Hotmail is my main email program, and it's only partially functional in Firefox, Netscape or Opera. I can't use Crazy Browser or MyIE, because they are IE-based.

Despite any negative feelings you may have about IE, I'd appreciate any help you can give me in getting it back.

I have Wibdows XP Home with SP2.
