black screen and cursor upon start up

After my computer runs for a few hours and I turn it off the next time I go to use it it goes through the start up screens then when i should get the desktop I get a black screen and cursor I opened it up cleaned it with air and it worked for about a month now it's doing it again

Does this happen when the computer has been off for several hours?

 

When you cleaned out the computer did you clean the heat sink and fan on the CPU?

That is a HP monitor, not the computer. :whistle:
