Ok, very simple problem: Whenever I open Task Manager and go to File>New process, Task Manager immediately crashes.  Why is this?  I have no idea what's causing the problem.

Are you getting any error messages?

No, it just says 'Task Manager has stopped working...'.

Does the Task Manager work in Safe Mode?

I have checked, and it seems to still not work.

By "seems to still not work" I'm assuming that you can't access the Task Manager in Safe Mode?

Try this, create another user account and see if you can use the Task Manager open a process.

By "seems to still not work" I mean "it still crashes when creating a new task".

Have you tried adding another user account as suggested to see if you can access processes in the Task Manager?

I'll try that, can't guarantee it'll work.

I can't guarantee it will work either, but if it does it brings us closer to find the cause for this.
