Hi guys

I am looking for some help. I have the department of justice virus. Running on windows 7 (I think) and I am not having luck getting into safe mode. I tried pulling the Internet and the screen still pops up with no Internet.. It's my work PC and would really like to try to get this resolved by Monday if at all possible... Any insight would be great. Thanks

Yesterday I could get to the f8 screen today I am not able to route to this screen. I hit f8 on start up however windows just starts up normally. I will try to reboot again right now to see if I have better results. Thanks so much for your reply and willingness to assist. I really appreciate it

I do not have a windows cd or DVD.. I just selected safe with command it would not boot windows brought me back to the login page and subsequent ally back to the f8 page. Stated it could not load windows.

I could choose safe
safe w networking or
safe with command

Or I could choose last good config or
boot normally...,

Please follow the instructions given here

http://support.kaspersky.com/8005

You need either a DVD or flash drive. Please follow the instructions. After scan finishes, restart the PC and see if that helps. If you can boot into normal mode we can use other scans to make sure system is clean.

I'm back...

Ok so I copied the kaspersky rescue....

First point of clarification I would like to ask.... Is there two applications from kaspersky unlocker and resue?

Right now the file that I downloaded is called resue.

I put it on a USB got to the boot menu and selected boot from USB.. The menus came up and said operating system is missing.

I'm lost on my next steps.. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I will certainly donate graciously for assistance with this the point of resolution.

Unlocker feature is part of kaspersky rescue CD

Regarding operating system missing, make sure to follow these guidelines.

The connected USB device must have FAT16 or FAT32 file system. If NTFS file system is installed on the device, you are required to format it in FAT16 or FAT32.

warning113-2723.gifDo not use an USB device with other operating systems installed on it. It may cause incorrect booting your computer from Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10.

Glad that you are still online.... Thanks for responding.

This is a brand new USB nothing else is on it.

I am not familiar with fat16 or fat32...

How do I format in that manner.... Could you please elaborate?

Would it be easier for me to run across the street and grad a new disk I can burn to?

I wanted to suggest the same. Please try to burn it to DVD and try to boot.

Before that when you inserted the USB you should have changed the boot menu to USB.Can you change it to hard  drive and restart the PC.See if USB gets detected automatically.

If that doesnt work, burn it to CD and scan.
