I when I want to connect to the internet, I plug the in Ethernet cable from a small switch. Settings are set to DHCP and shows no Internet access. Then I follow the windows wizard>connect to internet>pppoe>enters username and password> success.
So internet is working on my computer.
BUT now when I take the cable and plug it into the router and try set up a pppoe connection, I get "no connection"
The WAN set on DHCP also gets no connection.
What I did was set it to static and use the IP obtained when it was plugged into to PC. Then I got a connection. But still no internet.
What should I do?
Maybe an ISP clue:
How to set up an internet connection on Linux Debian (Ubuntu, Mint and other debianbased)?
Set the following relationship (to use the free WiFi in the dining room):
sudo apt-Get install PPTP ppp-linux hal python python-gtk2 python-gconf
downloaded packages: wget http://dasmsu.ru/downloads.php?cat_id=5&file_id=10
Install: sudo dpkg-I graphic-pppoe-PPTP-client_0.6 all.deb
~ Now you can run a graphical program graphic-pppoe-pptp-client and the connection.
ISP: DAS-online (I'm in Moscow, Russia. Living in a dorm)
Here is some information about my connection:
Router: Dlink DIR-300NRU (1.4.9 firmware) WAN Miniport (PPPOE) 10.18.29.252 sub:255.255.255.255 gateway 0.0.0.0 dns:192.168.0.1 18.104.22.168 my mac: 00:26:22:EC:B5:28 no dhcp no netbios tcpip CHAP no compression PPP multilink framing off not NAT capable limited network(before connect to the pppoe) 10.131.60.169 subnet:255.255.224.0 network gateway:10.131.32.1 dhcp: 10.131.32.10 ^dns and also 10.131.0.10 when I ping vpn.das2 I get :[10.131.0.8]
Maybe someone can teamviewer me to help.
