j_w here. Forty years in electronics, thirty-five in computers, and still a novice on the internet. I recently purchased a Compaq Presario M2000 and am trying to get it up to speed. It takes seven minutes to startup. Windows XP home edition. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You may want to post about this problem in the WindowsXP forum, perhaps with additional detail about what you have looked at so far as the cause of this problem.

Thanks for joining and welcome to BC!
