Hi, i got a bit paranoid here one evening an decided to run a little scan with combofix. So, everything goes as planed until i notice that it is uninstalling my photoshop CS2. Well honestly, it isn't the most legal copy of that particular software, i've used a generator to get some needed numbers. And when using that generator, some antivirus products might have mentioned something about a trojan or so. But that's no biggie, them av:s have removed the badboys, and everything has worked nicely after that. So, the photoshop.exe is intact, or so i believe atleast. Why did Combofix remove CS2?

Sorry, but we can't help you until you purchase a legitimate copy of Photoshop or completely remove the illegally patched program. After you remove the program we can answer your question, but until then we would be subjects to a crime.

Hi there mr. Aussie. I have been crawling around this forum in search of information regarding this, but with not so much great success. I must admit, that im a bit curious about the case, because no alternation should have happened to *.exe, according to my other tools, so why did combofix uninstall the whole program. Now, im not accusing anyone/thing about this, nor should i have errr, copied software installed on my computer. Im just curious what triggered this.

Hi again, and no problems with your reply. We meet this often -

Standard Notice included with ComboFix and any problems - (See the link I have left above) -

ComboFix is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. All implied warranties are expressly disclaimed.
If you do not agree to the terms stipulated by sUBs, use of his tool is at your own risk.

Bleeping Computer and sUBs will not be responsible for any damage caused to your machine by misusing or running ComboFix on your own.

Although we will try to offer help via the Malware Removal area, if needed (and at times here), there is no full instruction manual, or inside information offered for this program by the developer or this site, so "it just happens" ! ! !

Note that our helpers will go through a training course that can last 6 months, plus further "on the job training", and still only just cover the basics of this program, and often, how to repair some of the problems it can cause.

I can only offer that the program (ComboFix) found something in the .exe of your install was not right ??

You did agree it was not a "legal" install, so that is what was found ......... Not much more we can offer for now -

Regards -
