'dmwu.exe' Is accessing my public network through Windows Firewall and I can't uncheck it.

To the best of my knowledge 'dmwu.exe' has something to do with 'incredimail'

and the digital signature is from 'Perion Network'.  Path is C:\Windows\System32\dmwu.exe

Virus scans prove uneventful, as nothing is detected.

I think it's strange that dmwu.exe has protected itself from being denied access

to my public network.

What should I do?  Delete the file?  Leave it alone?  Thanks.

Hello and Welcome -

Do you have both Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free and SuperantiSpyware Free installed.

Both downloads are from BleepingComputer download base -

Please download both programs, Update the data base and run a Full scan with each -

Each program will produce a log when finished. Please post the log back here, to see if it was removed -

Next: Download AdwCleaner by Xplode, from BC download area
NOTE:Close all open programs including your browser while the program runs.
To launch it click on Delete
Your computer will be Rebooted after the scan completes.
A log should be generated after scan, Please post it here to see if the remains were removed -

Please tell us if there is still a problem after this -

Thank You -

Full scans take a long time.  I still need a little more time to run SAS and MalwareBytes full scans.

i ran AdwCleaner and it deleted all the adware present on my computer.

Hi -

A full scan should not take much longer than 2 hours, even if there are infections present -

These scans can be Minimised while you are doing your normal work or just playing simple games.

I run a full SAS scan while I have dinner at nights, and run a MBAM scan while I visit here usually.

Take your time, as I do not wish to rush this -

Thank You -

OK.  I'm running SAS scan now.  Over 70,000 files scanned, no threats detected.

Will post log upon scan completion.  I downloaded AVG Internet Security trial;

to utilize firewall until current issue with Windows Firewall is resolved.

I'm thankful for your help but I've realized that I posted this in the wrong section.

Mods please close topic.  Again, thanks for the help you provided.

WIth AdwCleaner I was able to get rid of a lot of leftover adware in my computer.
