Probably best if you read through quietman7's posts here and then ask what you need to.

I recommend Unthreat Antivirus, it's a free antivirus and I think it works really well. You can check it out here www.unthreat.com

Hi -
Just to add a few items - It is always best to start with Choosing an Anti-Virus Program - By quietman7

Also note: There is no universal "one size fits all" solution that works for everyone and there is no best anti-virus -

There are so many variables - Your type of computer / Operating System / use of computer / what you expect / what you will actually get / a full Suite or just Antivirus / can a firewall from X be mixed with other installed security programs / do you include an active Antimalware program / do you include SpywareBlaster / do you include any other software at all / can it be simply uninstalled if you have problems -

The question is simple, but the answer is not so simple, as you can see from the above list of options -
Sorry to complicate things, but any offered ideas must be taken with the above in mind -

Thank You -

Hi maiKa,

I recommend Unthreat Antivirus, it's a free antivirus and I think it works really well. You can check it out here www.unthreat.com

Have you tested that antivirus? FWIW, saying that it works really well could mean that it just didn't cause any problems on your machine. But without evidence of how capable and effective it is at protecting your system, there's no way to tell how well it works.

I haven't used it before, so I can't comment on it. But I can tell you I'll not be using it on my system. MSSE is more than capable without hogging system resources.

I just searched for Unthreat Antivirus Forum and got no results ??

All the better Antivirus and Antimalware companies I know of have a support / discussion forum to access -

There was a "Submit a Support Question" and a "FAQ area", but I do not know where it ends up.

Sounds very disorganised for a company that sells this type of product for US$30 per year -

Even M/soft offer personal and forum support for their Antivirus, as do all the better products, so I'm staying away from it too.

It seems to run a Ripped version of Vipre Antivirus (which is good), but apart from a FAQ area it needs more .......

The below is about all the company offers as a direct line > >

General Inquiries and Customer Support, Scandium Security Inc. > PO Box 53290, Cyprus 3301.

And "Scandium Security Inc" is hard to track down -
