Greetings, I have a Dell Dimension 2350. XP Professional SP3 55.84GB hard drive, 66% freespace 36.87 GB. I use Microsoft Security Essientials, Disc Cleanup, Defrag. I have used Microsoft windows Malicious Software removal tool. When one this site, for instance, if I click on a thread, the windows Task Manager square turns solid green showing 100% CPU use. Sure could use some help! Thanks Richard

Well...for how long is 100% CPU use reflected...and exactly what screen are you looking at in Task Manager, what tab?

Go to the Processes tab and see what process reflects maximum use at that time.

Hi Louis, I have the Task manager minimized, when I bring it up it shows 98% or 100% it may stay from 1-3 minuts before the site brought up or the task is completed.

When I check to see what is running, it is usually Iexplore.exe or Administrator.

I'll check afresh and write down the results to better answer that question.

For how long...does iexplore.exe stay at/near maximum per Task Manager?

How many browser windows do you have open at this time?

Momentary spikes are somewhat common...how long does the spike last?

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and copy/paste the results/contents into your next -post

.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792

Your Speccy link is fine,,,,but the data you submitted from MiniToolbo is pretty useless.  It appears to be unformatted, which is not the usual/typical manner that requested data appears when posted by other members who have responded to the same request for data.

I'm deleting those posts....please try again.

There is no reason to be unable to copy/paste the entire report exactly as it appears...and paste the entire contents into a single post, if you follow the directions previosuly given.  I previously omitted a small part but I have corrected that.

Thanks :).

Louis
