I am having issues updating Java7 update 15. I get the message my PC is lacking the installation package jre 1.7.0_09-c.msi. Under Control Panel I see Java 7 Update 11, but I can't uninstall it, I have Windows 7, 64-bit,

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Not sure I understand the problem.

The java new installer should remove any older version, it's not necessary to try to remove anything manually.  Even if it were, the vehicle for removing a program is Add/Remove Programs.  After the update, you should see an entry reflecting "Java 7 Update 15" in Add/Remove Programs.

Restart the PC

Download

Javafix

Launch it and click on AGREE and Select Click to Fix option

After fix completes, restart the PC and try to install again.

Hi narenxp, I ran the fix, but when trying to install the new Java, I keep getting the message the system can't find the folder containing the installation package jre 1.7.0_09-c.msi... after that I get an error:

1714 The older version of Java 7 Update 15 cannot be removed

I am afraid I might have to do a clean reinstall of Windows....but you tell me, if you think there is another way to fix this...and by the way, your support is much appreciated!
