Mod Edit;moved from Vista to the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum ~~~ boopme

I have a eMachines Desktop running windows Vista 32 bit with an AMD athelon x2 processor.

I've cleaned the dust off of it, defragmented, removed malware (the major one being rootkit.zeroaccess), done a disk cleanup, updated drivers, and used a tool to check the memory, it passed.

The symptoms my computer is having:

Slow startup/ shutdown

constant freezing (although not as bad since I did all that stuff up there)

but the main thing I'm worried about is I've been getting the BSOD frequently with the error message "memory_management".  I can't get a system rating because it crashes like that halfway through.

I have a feeling these three things are probably caused by the same thing.  Please somebody, give me some advice!

In the Reliability and Performance monitor, under reports/system/system diagnostic there's an error there-

Symptom:  A service is reported as having an unexpected error code

Cause:  One or more services has failed.  The service did not stop gracefully, suggesting the service may have crashed or one of its components stopped in an unsupported way.

Details:  Service exited with the code not equal to 0 or 1077

Resolution:  Restart the service

Related:  Performance Diagnosis

Also, under Basic System Checks-

System service checks:  Failed

Hardware device and driver checks:  Failed

One more thing, every time I try and run Spider Solitaire I get the error "Critical Error: no suitable graphics devices found."  I'm really not that worried about this right now, but I thought I'd mention it in case it's related.

I finished the TDSSKiller scan, and I got half way through the aswMBR scan when I got the BSOD IRQL_not_less_or_equal.  I tried to reboot in safe mode with networking and I got (for the first time ever) a BSOD Stop message.  I hope I didn't mess anything up by doing that.  What should I do?  Try the aswMBR scan again?

Sorry, dumb question, how do I upload a txt file?  I don't see attachments anywhere.

Delete the quarantined files.

Malwarebytes

--------------------

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.  If you already have it installed launch the program and update the database.

  • Important!! When you save the mbam-setup file, rename it to something random (such as 123abc.exe) before beginning the download.  You can also right click on the link and select Save Link As

Malwarebytes may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet and double-click on the renamed file to install the application.
For instructions with screenshots, please refer to this Guide.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings except to uncheck any offer for a free Pro trial version
  • Malwarebytes will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
  • Under the Scanner tab, make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • When finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box, then click the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked and then click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows the database version and your operating system.
  • Exit Malwarebytes when done.

Note: If Malwarebytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally will prevent Malwarebytes from removing all the malware.

  • An Rkill.log will appear.  Please copy and paste the contents in your reply (file also located at c:\rkill.log)

Is there some where else I can upload the files?  I don't have a paypal account, and when I try to use the front page of filedropper.com it acts like it's going to work, but never gives me a link.
