how to backup the touch, upgrade the ios from ver 4.3 to ver 6.1 and then restore and have the touch still work.

You will need to use iTunes to sync the iPod Touch to either a Windows computer or a Mac.  That will also backup the iPod Touch.


That will also allow you to upgrade the OS as well.  As part of the upgrade process, it will keep everything (all apps, data, settings, etc) or restore it (if needed as part of the upgrade process).
