Take a look at the last post at http://www.vistax64.com/vista-hardware-devices/80153-operation-requires-interactive-window-station.html .

The optical drive on any system...uses the same generic driver which is loaded by any version of Windows.  If you think that your optical drive is damaged, simply go to Device Manager, uninstall the driver for the opical drive...and reboot Windows.

You might also take a shot at MS Fixit, Optical Drives - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 .

The drivers for the optic drive are gone, when trying to load them it gives me the window station thing.

Thanks

If you take a look at the above link...you will note that there are no drivers listed for optical devices, only software that cannot perform the driver functions.

If you want to reinstall the optical drive driver...simply go into Device Manager (Start/Run/type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter...and uninstall the optical drive driver, reboot and Windows will install it anew.

Background data at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms687096(v=vs.85).aspx .

I really don't see anything that I would call a "solution".

Since it seems to be a problem associated with your current Windows install...your original intent to delete such seems likely to take care of the current error message/problem.

have to ask how did the people at wal-mart give you the virus .

try boot into safe mode ,and see if you can uninstall .

ho to get to safe ,safe mode ,hitting f8 on bootup  choose admin acct if it offers a selection.

if no help in safe mode ,,

Try running SFC and see if any corruption in system files showing up.

Start - type this in Search Box -> COMMAND   find at top and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN

Enter this at the prompt - sfc /scannow
