Hi all, hoping someone can help me!

My computer has gone from 30 seconds to boot to almost 2 minutes to boot and is running very slow - I'm certain there must be some background process running!

Just over 1 week ago (March 22nd) I got infected with mousepad4 and 5, keyboard4 and 5, newname4 and 5 along with Surf Sidekick, VCClient, whsurvey and whagent.

I found all instances of files and deleted them (March 24th) and 2 days ago (March 31st) deleted some registry keys that remained from them.

But still my computer is running slow and yesterday (1st April) while actually (since I am on ADSL) running only yahoo messanger and Internet explorer on a safe page got a file virus detected on 2 files created in backgrond - so I figure something is definitely NOT RIGHT!

Below is a copy of a hijack this log I just ran, can anyone see something that I should tick to get rid of?

Thanking anyone in advance

Hi,

The forums are really busy, that explains why logs get behind. We start with the oldest logs first. If you still need some help, please start with posting a new hijackthislog in this thread. Don't start with a new thread.
Then I'll take a look.

Hello,

Yes, I see a clean log here. The only remark I have is that you have to update your Sun java.
Updating Java:
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
  • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have next icon next to it: Posted Image
    Select it and click Remove.
  • Then Download and install the newest version from here:http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
