Computer Randomly just shuts off....

Hello and HELP!! Please!

 

Lately my computer just shuts off.....It sounds like the Fan starts running faster and then before i know it..POOFFFFf it just shuts off....

 

after  a few minutes ..sometimes a half hour or better, I can restart it....

any suggestions why this is happening???

 

All help will be appreciated!!!

Whoville ( my computer) is Circa 2001 sony Vaio

I'm running AVAST!(free version)

malewarebytes (free version)

 This problem  sometimes goes away for a few weeks, then returns......

any other information that you may need , Please just let me know....

With the combination of the increased fan speed and then the shutdown it sounds like it is over heating.  The first thing I would do would be to purchase a can of gas duster (canned air) and blow out all the vents.  Try this and see if it helps, if not we will look further.


Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
