Hello,

my 2 yr old iphone 3GS has been doing very strange things for the past 3 months or so. I've gone to Apple phone tech, and they had me do a factory default restore. My app store crashes after attempting to open the "purchased" menu from the Updates tab. I was downloading a new app, and suddenly on the home screen, there appeared an app downloading that I hadn't even searched for. My iPhone has rebooted itself while using the apps. Several of my apps have crashed, even after re-installing. What could this be? I'm due for an upgrade soon, so I don't really want to be putting too much effort into this one, but I want it to work normally until then.

Also, I cannot update my iOS software cause my iTunes is crazy. I have redownloaded it twice now.

Namaste!

Update: I was finally able to update to the newest iOS version. The menu has resumed itself. and has stayed so far. I have other issues with calls not being recorded as missed. So let's see if the update fixes this. I wasn't sure if i should have done a factory default instsall of the iOS 6.0.2? I think it is? Anyways, was having trouble with my computer, but another mod helped me clear it of junk. I wasn't sure if I had to use my 'default' iTunes computer or since my stuff is in iCloud, that i could use any computer. I use iTunes Match, so all my music is there at anytime.

If you're still having issues, update, factory restore from the phone itself through the settings menu, then restore via itunes to a stock firmware. This should help. Then retrieve your things from iCloud. Hope I helped.

How can you factory restore using the settings menu on the phone? Erase all content and Settings?
