Background:

I've been having an issue on my system after installing and then removing Jetico Personal Firewall.  It completely screwed up my network connection.

Environment:

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

I've searched all over the net and tried various fixes, including many from this site:

DHCP Client - "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified" when I try to start it in the Services.  All dependencies are there: AFD, Tdx (NetIO), Network Store Interface Service.

I've tried sfc /scannow and came up clean.

netsh int ip reset C:\reset.log

netsh winsock reset catalog

Added permissions to registry keys for dhcp and tcpip.

Device Manager (show hidden) has AFD, tdx, NSI all running and set to start at boot.

Restore points are gone, so not a possible solution.

Thanks in advance!

Please download Farbar Service Scanner, save it to your desktop, launch it and type

Press "Export service".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Since the subject of this thread is DHCP and it's working now, I'll start a new thread for the TCP/IP service and you can mark this thread solved.

For those having the same issue, you can continue reading here.
