I just bought a Lexmark X3350 All-In-One Printer. the scanning portion of the printer seems to be operational, as it all works and shows up in the device manager. Printing however DOES NOT WORK. I'm not even allowed to install the software. Upon inserting the installation CD in the drive, a window pops up and there appears a button to "install". after clicking it a new window pops up saying "spooling service is not operational, you need to start it to continue with installation, would you like to start it now?" I click yes, the box automatically closes, and nothing happens. If i try to install again the same thing continues to happen. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting all cables. when trying to "add new printer" through the contol panel, it will just say "operation cannot be completed" when clicking on the "new printer" icon. HELP!!!

start>run type in "services.msc"
this will get you to the proper place to enable/disable your services. look for print spooler, right click on it, select properties, make the startup type, automastic, then click on "start the service". this should fix t he issue you mentioned. make sure to go to add remove programs a nd dump anything that says lexmark first, then restart the printer installation.
i wonder what happened to make your print spool service stop in the first place? hmmm
lemme know if this fixes your issues.
