I've been having popups occur in the lower left and lower right portions of my computer screen when loading pages in IE9. I am also seeing occasional redirects. The popups seem to lead to a sites such as PC Performer or appround.net. ESET online and Malwarebytes do not detect any infections with their most recent updates. This definitely seems to be an an infection, but I'm not sure how to attack it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Hunter and Welcome -
Do you have this program (PC Performer) or similar ones listed in Control Panel > Programs And Features ??

First -
Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following boxes:
•Flush DNS
•Report IE Proxy Settings
•Reset IE Proxy Settings
•Report FF Proxy Settings
•Reset FF Proxy Settings
•List content of Hosts
•List IP configuration
•List last 10 Event Viewer log
•List Installed Programs
List devices >>(Problem only)<<
•List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
•List Minidump Files
Click Go and copy / paste the result (Result.txt) in your next reply -
Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

Next -
Download UNHIDE to your desktop -
Double click on Unhide to start it - Vista and Windows7 users, Right click and select Run as Administrator -
Please post the result text back here

Last -
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
If you are prompted, please disable your Antivirus - Information (temp disable) HERE if required -
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Delete.
Confirm each time with OK.
NOTE - Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
AdwCleaner is a reliable removal tool for adware and other potentially unwanted programs.

Thank You -
