I think I may be dealing with a root kit.
Yesterday, I ran Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit BETA 1.01.0.1017 Malwarebytes_killer.mbar, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Chameleon.
A virus was detected - supposed to be eliminated -(not quarentined.)

Today, I ran ESET online scan. It detected and quarantined the following:
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\Setup\INF\aswSP.sys
probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan
__cleaned by deleting (after the next restart) - quarantined

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\aswSP.sys
probably a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan
__cleaned by deleting (after the next restart) - quarantined

Avast is my anti-virus. (which I disabled prior to scan
(8 sections called "shields")- all
Can an these really be a variant of Win32/Genetik trojan?[/color]

I have not rebooted yet - and hope someone can help before I must do

Thanks for any help - Sandra B
