My daughters Blackberry says that her laptop need net framework 3.5 sp1 which I downloaded and saved to desktop. It will not install and comes up with the following message

C:\DOCUME~1\Vicki\LOCALS~1\Temp\WLFFD.tmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Vicki\LOCALS~1\Temp\SDBFE.tmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Vicki\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSW1\VSSWMSISummary.txt
C:\DOCUME~1\Vicki\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSW1\VSSWMSIInstallTime.txt
C:\DOCUME~1\Vicki\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSW1\VSSWMSIFailInfo.txt
<NoFiles>

I have tried several time and all other updates are installed. the PC also has net framework 3.5 and 4 on it but the sp1 will not install
the computer runs on XP media centre addition version 2 service pack 3

Please help? :wacko:

Current Microsoft advice for .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installing and some known problems -

Full Package
To download the full package, rather than the bootstrapper, click on the link below:
.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (Full Package)
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

IMPORTANT: After installing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 package (either the bootstrapper or the full package) you should immediately install the update KB959209 to address a set of known application compatibility issues.
In addition, on Windows Vista x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64, install the update KB967190 to address a file association issue for XPS documents.

:( Thank you I now have net framework working properly, however the PC now always opens system32 tray. Also I get an error message saying that APSDaemon.exe has incurred an error and needs to close! I know that this is connect with apple and have checked start files which seem to be ok. any ideas?

Seems to be an Apple/iTunes problem. I would uninstall/reinstall iTunes if it is on your system.
