Hello and welcome to BC.

Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune and save it to your Desktop.

===========================================

Download and install Ewido Anti-Malware

During the installation, uncheck the following under Additional Options:
Install background guard
Install scan via context menu

Check for updates but do not run it yet.

===========================================

Click here to download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Close all windows before continuing.
  • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
  • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
  • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
  • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Your computer will then shutdown.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX[/QUOTE]

===========================================

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Look in here for more information.

===========================================

Double click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Check the boxes to the left of:

Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Temporary Internet Files
Prefetch
Java Cache

The rest are optional - if you want to remove the lot, check "Select All".

Finally click Empty Selected. When you get the "Done Cleaning" message, click OK.

If you use the Firefox or Opera browsers, you can use this program as a quick way to tidy those up as well.

Firefox :
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Opera :
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

When you have finished, click on the Exit button in the Main menu.

===========================================

Run Ewido.
Click on Scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a checkmark in the lower left corner of the box that says 'Perform action with all infections' then choose clean and click OK.
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report - click it.
Save the report.txt file to your desktop.

Now close Ewido-Anti-Malware.

Warning: While the scan is in progress, DO NOT open any folders or the Windows Control Panel !!

===========================================

Run Panda's ActiveScan from here and perform a full system scan.
- Once you are on the Panda site click the "Scan your PC" button
- A new window will open...click the big "Check Now" button
- Enter your Country
- Enter your State/Province
- Enter your e-mail address and click send
- Select either Home User or Company
- Click the big Scan Now button
- If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
- It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It will take a couple minutes)
- Click on "Local Disks" to start the scan
- When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

===========================================

Post back a new HijackThis log along with the Ewido and Panda scan results.

Thank you so much for your help. here's the first part, the look2medestroyer and hijackthis; the l2m wouldn't automatically start up even after reboot so i started it up manually, somehow deleting its first log in the process. a second run provided other l2ms to be destroyed though.

Thank you for the logs. I am missing the Ewido log, but you can do it again and include it with your next reply. You might like to print these instructions so that you'll have easy access to them at all times, especially when you are in Safe Mode. Please follow the instructions in the order they are given.

Make sure that you can see hidden files
" Click Start
" Open My Computer
" Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
" Select the View Tab
" Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders
" Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option
" Click Yes to confirm
" Click OK

=====================

Please click on Jotti
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
Use the "Browse" button and locate the following files on your computer:

C:\WINDOWS\win3208300-1262639.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\slk8x2peu.exe

Click the "Submit" button.

Please save the results and post them in your reply here.

If Jotti's service load is too high, you can use the following scanner instead:
http://www.virustotal.com/xhtml/index_en.html

=====================

=====================

Scan with HijackThis and put a checkmark against the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
O2 - BHO: Yvakt Class - {DAAC59E5-093D-4D24-A105-55BFE4ACDE14} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\w9seq.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [win3208300-1262639] C:\WINDOWS\win3208300-1262639.exe

O18 - Filter: text/html - {CEA53356-C414-4331-A35E-AA4CE9D8DFA2} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\w9seq.dll

Close all browsers/windows, etc., except HijackThis, and click on "fix checked".

=====================

From Safe Mode, Using Windows Explorer (right click on Start, click on explore), delete the following files and folders, if found:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\w9seq.dll
C:\WINDOWS\win3208300-1262639.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\slk8x2peu.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Ssk.log
C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\setup.exe
C:\WINDOWS\gimmygames.dat

C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files<===delete everything inside the folder but not the folder itself.

=====================

Still in Safe Mode, run ATF again

=====================

Still in Safe Mode run Ewido

=====================

Reboot in Normal Mode

=====================

Scan with Panda and save the log

=====================

Scan with HijackThis and save the log

Jotti said it couldn't find either file, either due to firewall or malware and repeated this message after i turned the firewall off.

Ewido turned out almost too well considering, i'm a bit skeptical.

It's looking good. :thumbsup:

thanks again, hope all is well and hopefully i won't bother you much more.

It's no bother at all. I am happy to be able to help.

Jotti said it couldn't find either file,

They must have gotten deleted already. I cannot see them anymore either.

Using Windows Explorer(right click on Start, click on Explore) navigate to and empty/delete the contents of the following folder, but not the folder itself:

C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\

Then, navigate to and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\keyboard11.dat

===========================================

Run ATF cleaner

===========================================

Run Ewido again but this time in Normal Mode just to make sure.

===========================================

Reboot and run Panda again

===========================================

Scan with HijackThis. Post back the new HijackThis log, Ewido log and the Panda scan results. Let me know how the computer is running now.

Well, there is just this one stubborn file that we'll try something else to delete.

Please run Notepad and paste the following text inside the Code box into a new file: It's important that you use notepad, not wordpad.

attrib -r -h -s C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Ssk.log
del C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Ssk.log

Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as Type" field says "All Files". Then please go to the desktop and double-click on remove.bat.

[Reboot.

================

The following fix is optional as they are not malware, just unnecessary clutter. If you decide to remove them, scan with HijackThis and put a checkmark agains them

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.toshibadirect.com/dpdstart
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.toshibadirect.com/dpdstart

Close all browsers/windows except HijackThis and click on fix checked.

================

Run Panda one more time please and post the log. You don't need to post the HijackThis log.

Well, this is proving to be a very stubborn file. Let's try something else.

Now, run HijackThis. Close all windows and browsers except HijackThis.
Go to Config > Misc tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:
C:\Documents and Settings\stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Ssk.log
Click o OK.

Reboot the computer and scan with Panda again please and post the results.
