Hello,

I need help. Blue Screen errors appeared three times lately (1/24/2013; 1/26/2013; 1/27/2013). The last two times displayed the same errors. Thank you very much!

Here are the pictures I took of the blue screens:

Hello Khalouda,

tmnciesc.sys and tmtdi.sys are both Trend Micro files.

  • If you have an old version on your computer, update to the latest version.
  • If you have the latest version already, uninstall it as a test.
  • If you paid for Trend, make sure you have the registration information before you uninstall it.
  • Once Trend Micro has been removed, download and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

If this doesn't solve your problem, we will need to gather more information.

Regards,
Brooks

Thank you Artrooks for getting back to me...I do have trendmicro

I just want to ask that after I uninstall Trendmicro and install microsoft security essentials. Do I re-install Trendmico after that?

Also, I want to mention that I recently installed Dropbox...Do you think it could be also the culprit?

I forgot to add in my 1st post that besides the blue screens, when I leave my laptop idle, it goes obviously into "screensaver" (black in my case because I did not choose to have a screensaver) and sometimes when I come to my laptop and move the mouse or click on any keyboard key, the screen stays "black", the only option I have left is to shutdown the laptop by pressing the power button. This happened twice..

Thank you again,

KK.

Here are your options:

No. Do not re-install Trend Micro while Security Essentials is installed. You only want one anti-virus program active on the computer.

See: Uninstalling Trend Micro program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit

Dropbox should cause no problem.

Run with Microsoft Security Essentials for a week or two and see if the blue screen problem is solved. If no blue screens, you may remove Security Essentials and re-install Trend Micro. If blue screens return with Trend Micro, you will know the culprit.

Brooks
