I am running Win7 64bit on a Dell Laptop with Norton Internet Security. I keep that and Windows automatically updated. The Microsoft Safety Scanner found and removed a number of files when I ran it in full scan mode. Now, every time I run it, it finds 7 new files and always reports the "Exploit: Java/CVE-2012-1723 Partially removed."
I ran Norton Power Eraser and it found and removed c:\windows\system32\drivers\rikvm_9ec60124.sys
I have updated to the latest Java but I am considering uninstalling it altogether. Of course it is too late now that these files are on my computer. They are obviously active enough to regenerate their files.
What should I do about this?
Will I have to go around changing all my passwords after fixing it?
