Hi I'm new here.I'm here because my computer is majorly infected with what-ever.I just want the darn thing to work. But it looks like , this is the right place to be. Lots of great info here.
I'm going to be positive. I am preparing to learn something here.

So here is my problem. Don't know how it happened.

My comp.(HP laptop, Vista 64 bit??} was slow and little bothersome things reoccured.
Was checking my mail and noticed 100 or more MAIL-DAEMON failures.
My SEND box revealed 10 or more possible recipients with (Re:, Re5 or NO SUBJECT} as the SUBJECT.
Ran my anti-virus and it stopped dead on BACKDOOR.RUSTOCK.A.
Called anti virus company for tech support. They were either miffted or were just reading from a script , directing me to buy
their remote-help.
I thought that their program was suppose to protect my comp.?
Then a black screen ~~~How do you want to start your comp.?~~~2 windows boxes appear, both saying
~~~~Windows has detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately.
Tried to move files to an external disk~~~~was difficult.
I ran Spybot in safe mode. I'm afraid of rebooting out of safe mode for fear of losing something or everything.
From reading about MALWARE, I know I am over my head.
I also noticed that in the NETWORK AND SHARING , Network sharing and File Sharing were "on". Oh dear!!!!!
In the list of my Public Files there is LogMeIn Rescue, which I googled. This is associated with a program
GoToMyComputer, ~~~remote access to computers in stealth mode. Oh No!!!! I'm so paranoid!!!
What do I do now? Thank You All.
Hello and welcome. This is a nasty one.
Backdoor:Win32/Rustock is a rootkit-enabled proxy trojan used to send large volumes of spam from infected computers. The trojan consists of a user mode installer and a kernel mode rootkit driver. The rootkit driver hides registry keys, files, TCP ports and memory objects and also hides itself from applications containing the following strings: RootkitReveller, BlackLight, Rkdetector, Gmer, Endoscope, DarkSpy, Anti-rootkit.
The only way to get this is with a deeper look. Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.
How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
