I have an old Dell Inspiron1525 that I got from a friend that wasn`t working. When I tried to boot up, I got a windows error that said `windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might have been the cause`. I tried the Repair computer tab with the Dell CD, and was still not abe to get it to work. I finally decided that the best way to go about it would just be to reformat the machine and reinstall the OS. I have the Dell disc, but still got an error at the end of the Windows (vista) install the said that Windows could not complete installation due to the hardware on this machine.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thanks so much!
