I keep getting a pop up saying "This computer is not running genuine Windows". This is a relatively new computer purchased from HP with Windows pre-installed. What does this mean and how do I fix it. Windows help tells me that I have to reinstall Windows from scratch and will loose all of my data. No F#@%ing way!

Hello -
Please contact your Retailer, or contact HP - Are you talking "purchased a week or so ago" or purchased several months ago ??

Did you register your computer, or was the registration done by your retailer / HP ?? < < This is what you need to ask -

Thank You -

What model HP system is it?

I've seen this before on HP systems...I thought then that it indicated file corruption issues.
