Simple and to the point. My son had our iPad synced with (now dead) laptop iTunes. Trying to now get iPad onto PC iTunes, but no matter what solutions I try, iTunes won't recognize iPad.

PC recognizes it. All Apple solutions tried.

Any help/direction would be appreciated! Thank you!

*Can do a restore, but before wiping out all photos, etc. (since there is no backup), I'd like to see if there is another option...

OMGAAA...repeatedly...

I've been thru ALL their pages and suggestions. I finally restored it, but then it wouldn't restore and kept giving me an error message. I was about to scream and/or cry.

My teenager came home and told me it doesn't work on my PC, but it does get recognized by the new PC we bought for Christmas...so he plugged it into that one and restored it to a back up copy. Still have no idea why this PC won't recognize it.

Well...I DIDN'T get it to work.

I still won't work on my PC, and I have no idea why.

Hey,

I'm sorry. That last reply appears a little gruff and blunt; I certainly didn't mean it to come across that way. Darn missing inflection! :)

Anyway...am using Vista. I would say this might have to do with the fact that the iPad is tied to another version of iTunes (on another desktop), but my son assures me it never worked on this computer from the get-go.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

You should be able to plug it into any computer with itunes on it and have it detected.

When the iPad is plugged into the computer and you go into Device Manager. Do you see it listed under portable devices? If so, right click on it and select uninstall. Then disconnect the iPad and reconnect it. See if iTunes can see it then.

Also are you using the latest version of itunes?
