Can elaborate on what exactly happens or happened when you say "didn't work out". You don't give us much to work with, without a descriptive narrative of steps taken and results of those steps.

Yes of course, I can no longer access the OS since the 30 day grace has expired also since I was not able to satisfy the need for the Product Key.

so now I want to reformat the HD and reinstall my XP home edition.

When I use the Safe Mode it reverts to XPHome edition, I think, . .

When I try to reformat (C:), in safe mode I get Windows was unable to complete the format.

(F:) I get Windows cannot format this drive, Quit any disk utilities or other programs using this drive and make sure that no window is displaying the contents of the drive. The try formatting again.

(G:) which is only 31.3 MB I was able to format, but I don't think that will help me install the OS.

Have you tried slaving it to another computer and reformatting it there? Then put it back in and run the normal install.

Thats interesting !

Let me explain the situation, . .

I have this DELL Dimensions 2350 and it has a max. cap. 1 GB RAM,

thats about 500 more than the PC I am working from.

So what your saying is that there is a way for me to take this OS which is a WXP home

and install it in the DELL ?

I've hear of that, . .

Sorry I need to brush up on this technique, . . .

are you saying install this HD into the DELL, as # 2 HD

that presently does not have an OS, then, in someway

transfer or copy the OS over to the DELL HD ?
