Hey guys, definitely had some strange computer issues come up today:

1) Email account was compromised, sent out a round of spam before I noticed and changed my pw.
2) I noticed I was seeing ads on web pages, which I never see with Ad Block Plus for FF. Checked the Add-Ons Manager in FF, and it shows I have no add-ons, plugins, or appearance items, and the "Get Add-Ons" tab won't load.
3) I'm unable to install add-ons. The add-on will download, but will not install.
4) Avira Antivirus was gone from my computer. Just gone. I went to run a virus scan, and the folder for Avira was empty. Windows Security did not alert me I was running w/o virus protection.
5) I have Internet Download Manager, and a few times today it has popped up on it's own asking me to confirm a download I did not initiate.

I restored the computer to a point from a few days ago before problems started, with no change. After reinstalling Avira AV, I ran a scan and it didn't find anything.

Thanks for any guidance you will provide.

Edit: I tried a reset of Firefox (Help>Troubleshooting Information>Reset Firefox), and some of my FF functionality was restored. My plugins are back, and I'm able to install add-ons now (though my previous ones are gone).

Download aswMBR to your desktop.
Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it.
If you see this question: Would you like to download latest Avast! virus definitions?" say "Yes".
Click the "Scan" button to start scan.
On completion of the scan click "Save log", save it to your desktop and post in your next reply.

NOTE. aswMBR will create MBR.dat file on your desktop. This is a copy of your MBR. Do NOT delete it.
