I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop. Today I noticed that when the monitor is opened too far the screen changes to kind of vertical bars and repeat images, it is hard to explain and so I have attached a photograph.

Earlier it was only if the screen was opened too far, now however it is more sensitive and happens whenever the screen is moved, or if I lift up on it slightly, although it is worse when opened all the way. I am assuming there is some problem with a connecting cable between the computer and the monitor however I have no knowledge of the subject and was wondering if there are any steps I can take or if it needs to be brought to a repair shop.

Above is the image of the faulty monitor, however that was taken with a camera phone and the lines and boxes you see were moving upwards and the entire thing was yellow and blue.
