I have a pop up that says that com surrogate has stopped working. After that, it takes forever to access a drive. It almost seems that it is searching through every file on the computer before it brings up the directory. I hadn't made any recent changes or added any new software. Oh yes, my system restore shows restore points only up to a week ago, and the laptop is two years old? Any help would be appreciated.

I read that it could be drivers, but I hadn't changed any lately. I tried updating the video and printer drivers, but no change.
