4 days ago I got a message "octoshape streaming services" "could not bind to local host. Please checfirewall setup"
Since then I have had no internet connection or outlook.
I have run scans McAfee and wisefixer which have come up clean.
I also tried to do a recovery but had no starting point....which I have had in the past.
Not sure where to go from here.

What firewall are you using?

Try disabling your firewall and see what happens. A firewall is an important measure in keeping your computer protected, turning it off any longer than it takes to see if this resolves the issue isn't suggested.

If this is the Microsoft firewall check out the video at this site.

I have actually tried uninstalling McAfee and I still could not get onto the net. I have also tried in safe mode with the same result.

By recovery do you mean doing a system restore?

If not you might want to give that a try.
