Word cannot create work file

Hello,

I just installed Word 2010, but now I cannot save any Word documents received as email attachment.

when I open Word, I receive the following error message: "Word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable"

I noticed that this question has been answered several times on the internet, but I'm looking for a reliable answer.

Microsoft Support is a trustworthy site, see what they have suggested here.
