Already started a discussion here: http://www.sysnative.com/forums/bsod-crashes-kernel-debugging/4968-blue-screen-death.html

After a weird download my laptop experienced a BSOD. Then it would freeze whilst trying to log on to my user. I tried system repair, system restore, but they are not helping. Also whilst using McAfee to shred possibly suspicious files in the recycling bin, I accidentally deleted the desktop, and need to find a way to restore the item as I am left with just as shortcut to nowhere.

Windows 7
Original Windows 7
Had it for a couple years now
Haven't reinstalled the OS

Celeron® Dual-Core CPU
Samsung Electronics

My friend thinks this could be a rootkit but I do not know what this means.
