Lately my toshiba satellite A205-S5853 is acting weird. When I power it up on battery, it powers on, the hd starts up, the fan starts up but everything shuts down in like a second. I thought it was maybe that the battery didnt have enough power, so I plugged in the AC cord, same thing, so then I figured maybe the battery was causing a short, so I took out the battery and unolluged it from the AC and pressed te power button to dissipate any static. Then I plugged in the AC and left the battery out. Same thing happened.

What is going on, can it be fixed without having to buy a new mobo

It sounds like the computer is failing in the POST. This is usually related to peripheral devices. Disconnect any devices plugged into the laptop and then try to start it.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

I dont have any peripheral devices attached to the laptop. I thinkk it might be the thermal paste that has dried up and now the processor heats up right away causing the shut down. Im trying to open up the laptop, is there anywhere to get illustrated instructions
