What causes your programming skills to degrade most?

Illness + meds
outside stress (example: a relative is very sick)
lack of sleep
anything else?

Right now I have the flu. With the antihistamines to boot I'm about to read Run Spot Run!
Worst was when my Dad died, was very sudden. Couldn't write code for over two weeks.
