You can view the information in the email header. How to do that varies depending on which email service you are using.
For instance, in Hotmail, you open the message then click on the box next to reply on the right... top of the email.

Here are a few more ways to view headers:

Gmail

  • Open the message in your Gmail inbox.
  • Click the down-arrow in the top-right corner of the message.
  • Click the "Show original" link toward the bottom of the options box. The message will open in a separate window with the full message headers at the top.
Microsoft Outlook

  • Open the message in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Select "View," then "Options."
  • You'll see the headers in the "Internet Headers" box.
Yahoo Mail

  • Open the email message in your Yahoo Mail inbox.
  • Click the "Full Headers" link located in the lower-right corner of the email message.

A few words of caution....Read the warnings at Craig's List....Only do business local and in person...CASH only....Obfuscate phone numbers and email addresses you post in your ads.

Like this....five five five 60two1....obfuscated phone number
LOVEMYPC AT yahoodotcom...obfuscated email address

Or create a temporary email alias such as offered by Hotmail. I do that often to prevent spam.

By typing the word dot instead of . and the word at instead of @, bots can't extrapolate them and create actual email addresses. An actual human has to read those words and interpret them and then reply to your ad. This is how you minimize spam for yourself with a web viewable email address or phone number.

As for a estimating any given websites value there are numerous sites that do that. However those are very subjective values and no two sites use the same criteria to valuate a given site. They are hardly accurate valuations when it would come time to sell a site or valuate ad revenue generation.

LOVEMYPC asks..." but how do you get reply to your ad except for the temporary email address...."

You keep the temp email address active until item(s) are sold. Then you can decide whether to delete the
temp address or keep it. I know Hotmail allows up to 5 temp/ alias accounts. The temp/ alias account does not
expire on its own like some do on the same day you use it.
