"Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1 is my only protection on my computer.
I get this message detailing the problem everytime I run a scan.

Hello Jaemal and welcome tothe BC HijackThis forum. Let's start with an Ewido scan.

Download and install the trial version of the ewido security suite. Update the program and then close it. Do not run it yet.

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer.
  • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
Start ewido and do the following:
  • Click on the Scanner button.
  • Click on the Complete System Scan.
  • If anything is found you will be prompted to clean the first infected file found. Choose Clean and put a checkmark in the checkbox for Perform action on all infections and click the Ok button to continue the scan.
  • When the scan is complete close ewido and reboot the computer normally.
Now post the Ewido log and a new HijackThis log back here using the Add Reply button and I will review the information when it comes in.

First, let me thank you for taking the time out to fix my problem.
It's greatly appreciated and I will leave a paypal donation.
I believe the trojan/virus that was affecting my computer is now fixed.
I am not getting any more warnings from my Micr.AntiSpyware.
The only thing I notice to be wrong is I cant delete SpywareQuake (some anti virus program) off my computer.
Ewido tells me everytime I boot up my computer would I like to "Block and clean" , and I say yes.
But it comes back everytime.
If it's not a threat though, It dosent really bother me. I just dont want it downloading trojans TO my computer.

Hi Jaemal. I'm a little curious about one of the filesin the log. Let's get it checked out.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Go to the Jotti's malware scan page and use the buttons at the top of the page to browse to this file(s) on your hard drive to submit for a scan:C:\Program Files\ArcadeRockstar\arcaderockstar32.exe
Several scanning engines will be used to check the file for any threats. Please post the results of the scans back here.

For some reason my computer never posts a result when I submit, the page never loads, and says connection was lost.
C:\Program Files\ArcadeRockstar\arcaderockstar32.exe
I do know where that came from
http://arcaderockstar.com/?lp=Y&a=56 is where I downloaded it from.
I was trying to download games.
I would like to delete it anyway since you think it "might" be a threat.
How do I?

Hi Jaemal. I downloaded and installed the arcaderockstar program to a test machine to see what it would do. Although the program itself is clean, some of the support files do contain some threats and the terms of use and provacy statement do say that you agree to allow the program to track/report your surfing and popup advertising on your computer. I for one would not allow this program to be on my computer so let's remove it and clean up the log. Please print these directions and then proceed with the following steps in order.

Important
Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. If it is run from Temporary folders the backups and HijackThis itself could be accidentally deleted if the Temporary folders are cleaned. If it is run from the desktop then the backup files and folders can clutter up the desktop and be accidentally deleted. If it is run from inside a compressed file then the backups are not created at all.
  • Please open My Computer
  • Double-click on Local Disk (C:)
  • Click on the File menu, point to New and then click on Folder. Name the folder 'HijackThis' or 'HJT'.
  • Unzip to or copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder (do not run HijackThis directly out of the sfx or compressed file).
Step #1

Download CCleaner and install it but do not run it yet.

Step #2

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer.
  • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
Step #3

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file)
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [arcaderockstar] C:\Program Files\ArcadeRockstar\arcaderockstar32.exe
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #4

Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):C:\Program Files\ArcadeRockstar\ <--folder
Step #5

Start CCleaner and click on the Run Cleaner button in the lower right-hand corner. When it is finished close CCleaner.

Step #6

Reboot normally and run at least 2 of the following on-line virus scans:Bitdefender <<<Add a check by 'Autoclean'.
eTrust <<<'Cure' whatever is found, then delete if unsuccessful
Housecall <<<Put on 'Autoclean' and delete what it can't clean.
Panda ActiveScan <<<Accept default settings
If there are any files that cannot be automatically disinfected or quarantined then you will need to delete them manually.

Step #7

If you do not already have Ad-Aware SE 1.06 then follow these download and setup instructions: Ad-Aware SE Setup. Otherwise, just check for updates.

Start Ad-aware SE, click the Start button and choose Perform Full System Scan. Click the Next button and wait for the scan to complete. If anything was found, right-click on the list and choose Select All and remove all it finds.

Step #8

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.

[size=1]Sorry for the delayed response, my internet connection was gone for a couple days.
(Router problem)
Ever since it's been fixed though, I've not been able to submit any lengthy posts on any message board, (Times out,) so I'm afraid I cant post a logfile.
I want to thank you however, for fixing my initial problem, I really appreciate it.
My computer dosent find any problems when I run my spywareprograms.

You're very welcome Jaemal. I'm glad that we could help.

If the router is having problems then that would either point to a configuration issue or possibly a hardware problem with either the router or the machine. If you are still experiencing problems I recommend contacting your ISP to makesure that the router and computer are configured properly or post a question in the Internet Browsing forum and let them check out the settings.

Now that your malware issues have been resolved I will close this topic. If you have any new issues in the future then please start a new topic.
